Canon 550D with Hague Mini Motion and BMW 1 Series

To test my Hague Mini Motion Steadi Cam i made this short clip with a BMW. I went crazy with the cc and also with optical flares. To take this clip too serious, but i think it shows what is possible with the 550D combined with the Hague Mini Motion. You’ve also to take in mind that this combo is very cheap but it offers you the possibilty to shot some nice and steadi footage, which is not possible when filming handheld. All shots were done in 1920×1080 24 p

thanks for sharing my video on your Blog! As i’ve already mentioned on the vimeo details this clip was done very spontaneous with the Hague Mini Motion and the 550D with the Kit Lense on. You can achieve great results with this small piece of equipment. But it’s a little bit tricky to get the system stable, you have to go through a “try and fail” process until it’s rock stable…or let’s say until it is stable as it can be.

It’s difficult to pull focus with this system, so for long runs it may be hard to use a wide lense (for example the 50 mm f1.8) and keep the object in focus. But overall i think it’s a good and cheap way to do some short runs you couldn’t do just handheld. And you have to keep in mind that the car was steady as a rock, so if you are filming some people who are moving it looks even more steadi because the movement of the cam and the person compensate each other.

If you have further questions don’t hesitate to eMail me.
